Canada Council for the Arts
The Governor General’s Literary Awards are presented to English-language and French-language books in each of the following seven categories: Fiction, Literary Non-fiction, Poetry, Drama, Children’s Literature (text), Children’s Literature (illustrated books) and Translation (from French to English).
Books must be submitted by an eligible publisher. Since the awards recognize artistic and literary merit, publishers should select only works they consider outstanding. The eligibility requirements are set out in the guidelines.
