Dr. William Henry Drummond (1854-1907) was "Canada’s First National Poet" as well as doctor and a silver mine owner in the Cobalt area. Included in many anthologies through the years including: The New Oxford Book of Canadian Verse (1982).

All entrants must be Canadian residents or landed immigrants. Poems must be titled, previously unpublished, and are not to exceed 50 lines in length, including the title.

  • First Prize: $300

  • Second Prize: $200

  • Third Prize: $100

  • Additional Information: Eight prizes of $50 each will be awarded for the honorable mention category. Eight prizes of $25 will be given for the Judges choice.
