Searchlight Writing for Children Awards’ aim is to open doors for aspiring authors. The twenty shortlistees from the last two competitions received an incredible twenty one full manuscript or additional picture book requests from agents and publishers. Entries are invited for the opening 1,200 words of a longer novel for children aged seven to eighteen. You don’t need to have finished writing your manuscript to enter.
