The Albany Book Festival is an annual event held in September that celebrates literature and writing. It is presented by the New York State Writers Institute and is held at the University at Albany. The festival features panel discussions, literary vendors, book signings, writing workshops, and more. More than 100 authors and poets attend, ranging from local authors to several nationally-known and best-selling writers. The festival also includes children’s activities, open mic readings, and online how-to workshops for aspiring authors.
