The BBC National Short Story Award with Cambridge University is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2025. It invites entries of short stories up to 8,000 words. Writers entering the competition must have a record of prior publication in creative writing in the UK.
The five winning stories will be published in an anthology published by Comma Press and also broadcast on Radio 4 and available to listen to on BBC Sounds. Each author may enter one story. Stories may be entered by authors or their publisher or agent on their behalf.
