The Ontario Library Association’s (OLA) Forest of Reading and the Festival of Trees occupy places of prominence in Canada’s literary landscape. The Forest of Reading is Canada’s largest recreational reading programme of its kind. Every year, more than 250,000 Ontario children read and vote for their favourite book in eight age-specific award categories. Forest official logo The Forest of Reading culminates in the Festival of Trees, a two-day awards celebration where the winners of each category are announced and celebrated alongside young readers. The festival is Canada’s largest literary event for children, with more than 9,000 attending the event here at Harbourfront Centre. Each day has energetic ceremonies with live entertainment, as well as workshops with the nominated authors and illustrators.
