Bookmarks began as an annual book festival in 2004. The Festival of Books & Authors has since grown to be the largest annual book festival in the Carolinas, reaching 20,000 readers each year. The Bookmarks Festival of Books & Authors is celebrating its 19th festival in September 2024. Approximately 50 authors are selected to present in panels, conversations, workshops, and keynote events across 6 venues (indoor and outdoor).
